MARIANA ESTEVES, PHD
I am an Early-Career Professional with an academic background in Palaeoglaciology/Marine Geology and a strong interest in project coordination and science communication and outreach.
Over the last 3-years, I have gained considerable professional experience working within project management/coordination and communication roles in both Norwegian Centres of Excellence, and large and small research projects, at the Department of Geosciences, UiT The Arctic University of Norway.
In August 2018 I completed my PhD in Marine Geology at the Department of Geosciences, UiT. Prior to the PhD, I undertook my undergraduate and masters degree at Bangor University, UK. I was born in Lisbon, Portugal, but moved to the UK at a very early age (7), where I lived and studied, prior to moving to Tromsø, Norway, in 2013.
In my spare time, I love to travel, explore, go swimming in the sea and spend as much time as possible in the mountains, camping, hiking, skiing, climbing and trail running. When I’m not exploring new mountains, I spend a lot of time thinking up new recipes, baking, and drawing/painting/taking large amounts of photographs.
